Valentine's day special : a children love story

Do you remember your first kiss ? The stress you got before it ? This soft feeling ? How old were you ? You were young weren't you !

Love is timeless, unconditionnal and touches every single person on earth. So why won't your little boy fall in love with a little blondie girl ?

But how you, parents, can deal with it ?

  • A deep conversation about Love

There you are, your child fell in love with a friend at school... Cupid hit their little innocent heart and they do not know what to do...

As they love you first and rely on you, maybe you could have a talk about love with them. You should build confidence with them in telling your own first love stoy : when it was, how it happened, who was the person you loved, etc...

Then you could tell them love is an amazing adventure, it's the best feeling you can experience and it's the most beautiful thing in life.

But you should also not to hide them the truth about it : sometimes, it hurts. Sometimes you can be disappointed. Sometimes, it's better to let it go.

So let them know they have to be careful and protect their heart but not to shut it to everyone because one day, they'll find true love in a gorgeous soul.

  • Advices to declare one's love

As a parent, you need to help your child to declare their love and give them advices to do it (if they want it of course ! Do not force the ones who don't want, it's their private after all...).

In my opinion, Valentines day's perfect for it ! It's romantic and it's a very special day. There are several options for a child to declare their love :

If your child is outgoing and wants to be original, you could advice them to tell their love face to face ! Boldness will just make them tougher.

Shy kids should try to make some love cards or write a poem to their lover. They'll leave it in their bag or if they have enough courage, give it to them directly, after a school day for example.

  • What to do on Valentine's day ?

Valentine's day is a very special day and this year, the 14th of February is on a sunday ! You'll have to find things to get your little ones busy... Arts and crafts, parties,...
